HIV & AIDS Nutrition

Poverty is rife in Africa and a huge percentage of the population do not receive their recommended daily allowance (RDA) of nutrition.  The lack of adequate nutrition worsens the condition of patients with Immuno-Deficient diseases such as HIV and AIDS.

CompuTainer set out in 2003 to evaluate the multitude of nutritional supplement companies.  CompuTainer has researched over 47 nutrition supplement companies in Africa.  We eliminated many companies and products based on misleading claims and lack of substantial proof in the use and effect of their nutrition products.  However, certain companies were able to introduce us to HIV patients that had seen a reversal of climbing viral loads and a reversal of falling CD4 counts with use of their nutrition products.

In sourcing supply, CompuTainer has focused on not only the nutrititional value of their HIV and AIDS supplements and HIV treatment results, but also on the ability of suppliers to consistently and constantly produce goods at claimed quality. We have chosen Nutrition Suppliers that have either the highest manufacturing standards and/or are ISO compliant, or where nutrition supplement manufacturing is managed under specialised pharmaceutical environments, that meet CompuTainer standards.

With criteria based on the highest levels of nutrition manufacture, distribution, capacity and well documented field trials; we have successfully narrowed the supply of nutritional supplements to companies we feel are both credible in their industry and have proven track records with people living with HIV and AIDS. In conjunction with NAPWA (South African National Association of People With HIV and AIDS) we at CompuTainer will continue to revisit all companies supplying nutritional supplements that can be of benefit to people living with HIV and AIDS.

All nutrition supplements will be supplied and backed up by companies that have both the capacity and resources to mass manufacture quality supplements for HIV and AIDS nutrition.
