Prevention is better than cure and with respect to HIV and AIDS we face an ever growing challenge of mass prevention in the African context. Together with their financial suppliers, CompuTainer has for many years been handling some of the region’s largest corporates with respect to their HIV and AIDS financial management, insurance, and staff benefits schemes. Currently CompuTainer provide, along with their various associated companies, HIV Call Centre Management services to over 2,000,000 families. The Personal Protection Plan allows CompuTainer to provide a 24 hour a day, multilingual call centre for access to professional information, professional counselling, post exposure prophylactic antiretrovirals, trauma assistance, as well as post exposure HIV status checking. In addition members have access to legal information relating to labour and HIV issues, dietary requirements relating to HIV and AIDS status, exercise, wellness and lifestyle advice.

In the six years of operation and with 2 million paying members and over 8 million family members there has never been an incident of accidental contraction of HIV.
